A. Women with disabilities
One in five people in Israel is a person with a disability, and there is a significant gap in the degree and nature of participation in the community compared to people without disabilities. The gap stems from perceptual barriers, both among the general population and among people with disabilities, towards themselves, and from the lack of accessibility, in all its aspects, in the public space.
The Department of Women with Disabilities at the Community Center Society has set itself the goal of promoting partnership and participation of people with disabilities in the communities to which they belong, in a range of community opportunities - recreational and cultural, through volunteering and employment, increasing involvement and partnerships, and taking part in decision-making. All of this in order to increase a sense of well-being. The basis is the principle of "nothing about us without us."
