Identities in the community

Identities in the community
The community is made up of individuals, families, and groups with different identities. The differences between these identities can be expressed in values, goals, beliefs, and more. In order to maintain harmonious community life, it is necessary to have a dialogue of identities, clarify the various issues, and promote agreements. Skilled and experienced professionals working with a deep understanding of diverse communities know how to assist in the clarification process while conducting a respectful, productive, and relevant discourse.

Matching the nature of the community, the various identities that make it up, and the interrelationships between them, and thus the methods of intervention by professionals in the community center, is the mission of the Department of Identities in the Community.

The Department of Community Identities serves as a national entity that provides professional support to local entities in various communities throughout Israel. Among its other target audiences: community and identity coordinators, community center managers, public administrations, and various community committees. The department provides professional support through various means, including: developing relevant content materials, training groups, personal guidance, networking with relevant entities in and outside the community, and connections with community entities around the world. The department works to promote social values in various and diverse ways, including: social and community resilience, Israeli social cohesion, dialogue between different identities, mutual aid, belonging to the community and the people, cooperation, and constructive dialogue between tradition and innovation.

In the field of content development, the department excels in working around the cycle of the year, traditional holidays, national days, and a series of exquisite memorial booklets for the community and family. The department has been using them for many years.
