The Early Childhood and Family Department operates in broad circles of influence from birth to the community: the children at the center, the circle of parents and family, educational frameworks, enrichment activities, and the community circle.

The department's vision is to lead significant change, growth and development of early childhood children and their families in all sectors and societies in Israeli society, while adapting to local culture and creating development spaces that promote optimal, continuous and safe growth; strengthening the sense of competence, belonging and significance in their community.
The department operates through the "Good Afternoon" after-school program, which operates in nearly 1,800 after-school programs throughout the country, the "Smart Start" daycare network, which operates in approximately 190 daycare centers (600 classrooms) throughout the country, the "My House for Growing Up Well" early childhood and family enrichment centers, and the operation of additional programs for early childhood.

Over the years of its operation, the Early Childhood and Family Department has developed specialization in:

· Mapping and examining local needs and providing a professional response tailored to the needs of the community center director, the center staff, and the local population.

· Developing professional teaching based on research knowledge that focuses on activating an educational-community continuum and promoting development spaces adapted to early childhood children and their families.

· Developing and implementing innovative initiatives, programs and tools for early childhood children, their parents and educational teams, including innovative and digital training tools.

· Guidance, supervision and accompaniment of educational and enrichment frameworks for early childhood (birth-age eight).

· Extensive partnership with all players at the local level, while adapting to the sector and culture , while promoting the early childhood field at the national level .

The "Good Growing Home" project was established in collaboration with the Community Centers Society and Tnuva. The project provides children and families from the socio-geographic periphery with wonderful opportunities to strengthen the bond between parent and child and to enrich the family unit. The "Good Growing Home" project includes 9 leisure and enrichment homes for preschool children and their families throughout the country, with two of the homes operating in Arab society and including a wide range of training and classes for children from birth to age 9. The homes throughout the country offer a wide range of free or nominally paid activities, which provide participants with new opportunities to enrich the child and their family unit.
